Job Description
Everforth ECS is seeking a Red Hat Open Shift Cloud Engineer to work in a hybrid remote/onsite capacity, with a minimum of 3 business days onsite at our Fairfax, VA corporate office and/or our Springfield, VA customer site. This role will support development and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud Solutions for a DoD customer, operating and maintaining multiple AWS Gov Cloud, Azure Government, and classified cloud environments.
The engineer will act as a Red Hat Open Shift subject matter expert (SME) and coordinate with cloud and on‑premise infrastructure teams to develop, deploy, optimize, and support multiple Open Shift deployments across all classification levels and multiple cloud providers.
- Open Shift Architecture and Administration:
Design, plan, and execute deployment of Open Shift environments at any impact level (IL2-IL6) across cloud, on‑premise, or hybrid infrastructures, documenting and adhering to security policies mandated by ATO requirements. - Open Shift Operational Support:
Onboard customer and partner teams into supported Open Shift deployments, coordinate resource allocation, and serve as SME for existing Cloud and Infrastructure teams. - Open Shift Troubleshooting and Support:
Diagnose production failures, maintain security compliance, and execute remediations, patching, and POAMS to sustain ATO status. - Support Across All Classification Levels:
Operate Open Shift deployments spanning all cloud Impact Levels (IL2-IL6) and multiple cloud providers, with SCIF presence 2–4 days a week as required. - Hybrid Environment Operations:
Thrive in a hybrid model, being able to be on‑site at SCIF up to 4 days a week. - Customer and Stakeholder Communication:
Effectively communicate with customers, program managers, ECS senior management, and Government representatives. - Leadership and Business Capture:
Provide leadership and creativity in new business capture and proposal development, and track industry trends to drive innovation.
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience.
- Active TS security clearance with ability to obtain SCI.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in technical and cloud solutions delivery.
- DOD 8570-01M certification: IAM Level I or better (e.g., Security+).
- Expertise with Open Shift Architecture and Administration (cluster configuration, updates, backup/restore, networking, storage, security, and performance).
- Expertise with Kubernetes deployment, management, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise with Linux and RHEL/CoreOS.
- Strong understanding of AWS and Azure/cloud-based technologies.
- Demonstrated customer focus and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
- Red Hat Certified Open Shift Administrator Certification.
- Experience deploying/managing Red Hat Open Shift clusters in multiple configurations (bare metal, hybrid, multi‑cloud, air‑gapped).
- Familiarity with standard CI/CD, Git Ops, and Dev Sec Ops operations focused on Open Shift.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI cloud management consoles.
- Automation and IaC experience: proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Git Ops workflows.
- Experience with in classified cloud environments.
- Strategic thinking on business, product, and technical challenges.
- Effective communication and collaboration with team members.
- Communication of impacts to Senior Leadership in concise language.
- Process improvement focus and ability to drive efficiencies.
- Willingness to assist with other activities to support the team.
$175,000 – $210,000
