$115,000/yr to $125,000/yr Apply on the Virginia portal→Applications go through the state’s official system — Civic Works only tracks the posting.## Summary The Senior SQL Database Administrator at Northern Virginia Community College designs, implements, maintains, and performs performance tuning of SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments. The role involves troubleshooting complex database issues, implementing backup and recovery strategies, managing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams.
This is a full-time exempt position reporting to the VP of College Computing.### Key qualifications
* Strong proficiency in SQL database design and administration including T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning
* Experience as a senior SQL Server DBA in an enterprise production environment with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and newer
* Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Always On, Log Shipping, and Geo-clustering
* Knowledge of identity, security, compliance, and Zero Trust concepts within enterprise infrastructure
* Experience with Power Shell or other scripting languages
* Pass CJIS Level 4 and FBI and Virginia State Police background check
