As a Platform Engineer, you will be part of an Agile development team where you will support the architecture, development, configuration, and evaluation of signals intelligence, radar, and communications prototype development systems, related software systems, and development environments for our Navy customer. Your area of work will include serving as an engineer for efforts related to the Kubernetes platform and Dev Sec Ops pipeline to enhance CI/CD, improve system reliability, ensure configuration management, and leverage automation for scalable deployments.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Execute Kubernetes cluster setup, enhancements, and maintenance projects
- Collaborate with engineering team to design and implement IaC to integrate successfully with hardware/software architecture
- Collaborate across multiple teams to integrate and deploy containerized services into Kubernetes
- Collaborate with developer and integration teams to ensure reliable and scalable deployments
- Utilize some or all of the following:
Git, Ansible, Git Lab, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Vagrant, or similar tools to build, package, deploy, and analyze artifacts, applications, containers, and virtual machines to various environments - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math, or equivalent experience
- Active TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility
- Willing to work onsite
- 3+ years of related work experience in a platform, Dev Ops, software, or similar engineering role
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including HELM, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Proven experience deploying and managing Kubernetes on bare‑metal servers in multi‑node clusters
- Demonstrated experience with Linux operating systems‑ preferably Red Hat Linux
- Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following or similar:
Git, Ansible, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Packer, Python, Vagrant - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams
- Experience hardening operating systems and containers to meet DoD cybersecurity standards
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues, maintain, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components
- Familiarity with advanced Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as Rook, Ceph, MetalLB, Artifactory, and ActiveMQ
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Power Shell
- Thorough understanding and application of Dev Ops principles and methodologies
- Experience implementing IaC in hybrid Linux and Windows environments
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., CKA, CKAD, AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Git Hub Actions)
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Experience with Active Directory/FreeIPA integration and management

The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is
$69,100-$141,500
