Responsible for the strategy, goals, budget, policies, procedures and execution of cyber security for a program or organization. Recommends cyber security investments and leads the execution of program tasks areas to discover and mitigate cyber risks, strengthen defenses and reduce security vulnerabilities. Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls and procedures to ensure the integrity and security of all computer-based systems and networks across all technical platforms in their program, portfolio, sector or organization.
- Leads the strategy, goals, budget, policies, procedures and execution of cyber security for a program or organization.
- Coordinates operations with other business groups and stakeholders, including Legal, Contracts, HR, IT in order to ultimately ensure the protection of information and assets including data, systems, databases, networks and other resources.
- Leads internal and external cyber security presentations as needed to senior level staff or clients.
- Establishes priorities for cyber security projects and staff to meet objectives and align with the strategic direction of the organization.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to understand business objectives in order to develop security requirement.
- Leads cyber security managers and supervisors in the execution of cyber security and personnel management tasks.
- Coordinates the establishment of new security teams and programs to meet internal or external stakeholder needs.
- Establishes security controls and processes required to project client data ensuring that legal and compliance requirements are met.
- Represents the company as an expert knowledgeable resource on data security. Acts as the escalation point for very complex data security systems and processes.
- Overall responsibility for leading the program, department, or functional area as designated. Oversees, directs, and mentors subordinate staff; communicates job expectations and enforces organizational policies, procedures and core values; responsible for recruiting staff, approving timecards, and conducting performance reviews and disciplinary measures.
- Stays abreast of new security technologies, identifies potential security concerns, develops approaches to mitigate identified risks, and works with teams to implement recommendations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Assurance, Computer Science, or related field;
Advanced Degree preferred. - CISSP or equivalent certification preferred
- 12+ years of experience with 7+ years of management experience
- Must have experience writing policy, performing complex vulnerability testing and operating system hardening along with demonstrated leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge with security industry standards (ISO 17799, NIST 800 series, etc.).
- Experience with internal controls, risk assessments, business process and internal IT control testing or operational auditing.
- Demonstrated ability to write business and technical reports and correspondence.
- Possess a detailed understanding of security control requirements and implementation processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, management and outside stakeholders.
- Ability to resolve very complex and highly diverse technical and management issues.
- Must demonstrate a detailed and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of cyber security principles, theories, regulations and practices.
- Utilizes creative problem solving and multitasking skills in order to manage a team.
- Strong security process writing skill while leading managers to develop processes and procedures for their areas of responsibility.
