Job DutiesThis position provides IT support at various levels, including front-line technical support of software and hardware; testing, installation and configuration of new and updated software and hardware; maintenance and support of the Fairfax County General District Court (GDC) website and other modes of communication; assisting with the planning and implementation of new technology initiatives; and performance of related work as assigned by management.
This position works very closely with both Fairfax County and State IT departments. The Court uses a combination of hardware and software governed by multiple overlapping departments, and this position serves as a liaison between those departments.
All employees receive a 15% locality salary supplement in addition to the state salary.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe IT Analyst backs up and assists the IT Manager for a large, high-volume, limited jurisdiction state court. This position assists court employees with the routine use of applications; troubleshoots network, application, and hardware problems; provides technology support in courtrooms; assists with maintaining the GDC's suite of SharePoint sites and other Microsoft 365 applications; and assists in the planning and implementation of new hardware and software rollouts and other IT projects.
Other duties include setting up new user accounts; notifying users of unanticipated downtime and coordinating the resolution with appropriate agencies; enforcing appropriate security policies; tracking inventory of hardware and peripherals; and testing new versions of applications.

Any combination of education, experience, certification, and/or training equivalent to the following: graduation from an accredited college with a degree in IT or related field and/or two (2) years of related professional work experience in such areas as business, court, or public administration. Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to perform personal computer and network troubleshooting. Proficiency in the latest Microsoft Windows operating systems and PC applications, such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Work is primarily performed in an office and courtroom setting. Duties require the ability to lift and bend to install, remove or repair equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
