Persian Farsi Linguist Interpreter Translator Transcriber

Overview

We are seeking a TS/SCI Poly-cleared candidate who speaks Persian Farsi to fill a prime contract supporting government operations in Fairfax, VA. This hybrid role requires onsite presence in Fairfax and the ability to deploy up to 25% of the time, including outside the continental United States.

• Accurately translate reports and texts in electronic and hard‑copy formats that contain facts and abstract language, capturing intended implications and nuances.
• Capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text.
• Provide consecutive interpretation and occasionally simultaneous interpretation, with a solid understanding of regional dialects.
• Review audio or internet materials and transcribe accurately, rendering high‑quality reports in written English.
• Identify and summarize factual points as well as abstract concepts.
• Use MS Office and internet research skills to produce translations and conduct basic web research.
• Present briefings using excellent spoken and written English.

• U.S. citizen.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph.
• Pass an advanced English test.
• Score ILR Level 3 or higher on the target-language translation test.
• Active passport and ability to deploy.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in translation, transcription, and/or interpretation.
• Deep knowledge of geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of the target-language area.
• Mastery of MS Office and internet research.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Previous military experience.
• Understanding of one or more regional dialects.
• Ability to perform consecutive or simultaneous interpretation.

$86,600 – $181,800.
