Fully cleared Persian/Farsi Linguist with hybrid role requiring on‑site work in Fairfax, VA and ability to deploy up to 25% of the time. Work either leading or as part of a team of linguists supporting CONUS and/or OCONUS operations.
Responsibilities- Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard‑copy formats, capturing implied meanings and nuances.
- Capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text.
- Provide consecutive interpretation; simultaneously interpret occasionally; understand one or more regional dialects.
- Transcribe audio or internet materials with high accuracy and expression; produce reports with excellent English‑written communication.
- Identify and summarize factual points and abstract concepts.
- Use computer skills including MS Office and internet research to produce written translations and products.
- Present briefings with strong verbal English communication skills.
- US Citizen.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph.
- Pass advanced English test.
- ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test.
- Minimum five years’ professional experience in translation, transcription, and/or interpretation.
- In-depth knowledge of geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language areas.
- Master use of MS Office and internet research.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Previous military experience.
- Understanding of one or more regional dialects.
- Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilities.
Pay Range: $86,600 - $181,800
