Bilingual Pashto​/Dari Linguist

The Opportunity: CACI is seeking TS/SCI Poly-cleared candidates who speak Dari & Pashto (must have both). This is a prime contract supporting government operations in Fairfax, VA. This is a travel only role. You will be deployed for 4 to 8 weeks at a time and return for 4 to 8 weeks.

• Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard‑copy formats that contain facts and abstract language, capturing intended implications and nuances.
• Capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text.
• Interpretation: interpret accurately. Consecutive interpretation is required; simultaneous interpretation may be required on rare occasions. Must understand one or more regional dialects.
• Transcription: review audio or internet materials and transcribe with high accuracy and expression. Must possess excellent English‑language written communication skills for preparing reports.
• Identify and accurately summarize factual points and abstract concepts.
• Possess computer skills, including MS Office, to produce written translations and products; basic internet research skills are required.
• Excellent English language verbal communication skills to present briefings.

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated Polygraph.
• Ability to pass an advanced English test.
• Score ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test.
• Active passport; able to deploy – this is a travel‑only role.
• Minimum five (5) years’ professional experience conducting translation, transcription, translation, and/or interpretation.
• In‑depth knowledge of the geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language geographical areas.
• Master use of MS Office and internet research.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Previous military experience.
• Good understanding of one or more regional dialects.
• Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilities.

The proposed salary range for this position is: $86,600 - $181,800
