Kurdish Linguist

Leidos seeks a Kurdish Linguist to support mission-focused IT and national security programs. In this role, you will perform high-quality translation, transcription, and interpretation between Kurdish and English, ensuring accuracy, cultural nuance, and adherence to security guidelines. You will analyze open-source and technical content, create clear reports, and collaborate with analysts, engineers, and project teams. The position involves using digital tools and language software, following strict confidentiality standards, and contributing linguistic expertise to support technology-enabled intelligence and defense initiatives for government clients.

Responsibilities

• Translate, transcribe, and interpret between Kurdish and English with high accuracy
• Apply cultural and regional knowledge to ensure nuanced, context-appropriate translations
• Support analysis of open-source and technical materials for mission objectives
• Prepare written summaries, reports, and glossaries in English and Kurdish
• Use digital tools and language software to process and manage linguistic data
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and project teams in secure IT environments
• Adhere to security, confidentiality, and data-handling protocols for government work
• Perform quality control and peer reviews on translated materials
• Assist in developing and maintaining Kurdish terminology databases and style guides
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders on linguistic findings and requirements
