Civil Litigation Attorney

Description

A boutique firm in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation and possess the ability to manage cases independently, including acting as first chair in trials.

Responsibilities:

- Represent clients effectively in civil litigation proceedings, including serving as first chair in trials.

- Draft, review, and file motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.

- Conduct comprehensive discovery processes, including depositions and interrogatories.

- Analyze case details and develop strategic litigation plans to achieve favorable outcomes.

- Provide legal counsel to clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected throughout the litigation process.

- Collaborate with colleagues and other legal professionals to ensure thorough case preparation.

- Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to support case strategies.

- Manage case files and maintain accurate documentation for ongoing and completed litigation.

- Negotiate settlements to resolve disputes effectively and efficiently.

Requirements

- Must hold a valid attorney license and be in good standing.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience serving as first chair in civil litigation cases.

- Proficiency in drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

- Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes, including discovery and trial preparation.

- Excellent research and analytical skills to interpret legal materials.

- Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases and deadlines.

- Strong communication skills for client interactions and courtroom presentations.

- Commitment to maintaining ethical and detail-oriented standards in legal practice.
