Commercial Facilities Project Manager

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a valued client in Fairfax, VA, is seeking an experienced Commercial Facilities Project Manager to join their team! This role focuses on managing renovation and capital renewal projects across commercial facilities, providing the opportunity to lead meaningful work in a collaborative environment.

Commercial Facilities Project Manager Job Summary

• Pay: $50–$60+ per hour
• Contract:
  
  Long Term (2+ years, up to 5 years with potential for full-time)
• Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexible)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee renovation and capital renewal projects (building envelope, roofing, solar, AHU replacement, etc.) from design through closeout.
• Develop scopes of work, bid documents, and administer contracts with contractors and vendors.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and coordinated planning.
• Manage utilities, space planning, energy conservation, custodial services, and grounds maintenance.
• Coordinate leasing, management, and disposal of real property in partnership with the Board of Supervisors and other agencies.
• Review and approve building plans for compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct inspections and audits to maintain safety and operational standards.
• Prepare and present reports on project status, budgets, and performance to senior management and County agencies.

Commercial Facilities Project Manager Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial building projects from cradle to grave (design, permitting, pre-construction, construction, closeout).
• Strong knowledge of commercial building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire alarms, elevators, backup generators, emergency lighting).
• Experience in writing scopes of work, bid documents, and administering contracts.
• Skilled at collaborating with architects, engineers, and multiple stakeholders.
• Independent, self-directed, and capable of managing projects with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills for public, contractor, and stakeholder interactions.
• Superintendent experience or Federal Government PM/COR experience preferred.
• PE license not required.
