The Operations Manager reports directly to the Division Manager in fulfilling daily operations including but not limited to route supervision, staff and operator supervision, effective communication with internal and external customers and coaching employees for optimal performance, managing the entire operation in the absence of the General Manager,complyingwithall
Companypoliciesandmanagingtheoperationwithinthebudgetaryplanfor the location. This position is based in Fairfax, VA in supporting the Division Manager.
-Competitivecompensationpackageofminimum $78,000 and Maximum of $97,000

Key Responsibilities:-Supervisesdailyactivitiesofalloperatorsandcoordinatestheactivitiesofsupervisorsanddispatch personnel.
-Overseesschedulingofoperators;monitorsoperationsandcoordinatesdeliveryofservicewithsuperiors.
-Workscloselywiththemaintenancedepartmenttoensurethatalloperationservicerequirementsare met.
-Track,compileandanalyzeperformance;handleinterdepartmentalissues;resolveemployeeissuesand grievances; improve processes and route scheduling.
-Makeshiringdecisionsforauthorizedroles;evaluatestheworkperformanceofstaff;ensuresthetimely and efficient completion of all assigned tasks.
-Assistsinaccident/incident investigation,includinganyneededon-siteassistanceandsupporttosafetyand training personnel.
-Coordinateswiththesafetyandtrainingdepartmenttoensureallsafetygoalsanddirectivesaremet.
-Develops Operationsdepartmentbudget.
-Mayoperateavehicleinrevenueservice,if necessary.
-Otherdutiesasrequired.
- Qualifications:Highschooldiplomaorequivalent,suchasGED,required
Class Borhigher Commercial Driver ’sLicensewith Passengerendorsementand Airbrakeendorsement required or the ability to obtain one
3ormoreyearsofrelevanttransitsupervisoryexperiencerequired
Thoroughknowledgeoftransitsystemregulationsandoperations.
Workingknowledgeandproficiencywith Microsoft Word ,Excelandrelevantdatabaseprograms
Goodwrittenandoralcommunicationskills
Abilitytoorganizeandperformworkefficiently;strongattentiontodetails
Abilitytoworkeffectivelywithlabor;mayincludelaborgrievancesandnegotiations
Mustbeabletoworkshiftsorflexibleworkschedulesasneeded.
