Role DescriptionThe Production Baker – Macarons & Pastry is a full-time, on-site role based in Fairfax, VA. This role is responsible for producing macarons and other pastries according to established recipes and quality standards, including scaling ingredients, mixing batters, piping shells, baking, filling, and finishing products. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining a clean and organized production area, monitoring inventory of ingredients and supplies, and ensuring all baked goods meet visual and taste expectations.
The Production Baker will follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, operate baking equipment safely, and assist with packaging and preparing orders for the Georgetown store and catering clients. The role may also involve collaborating with the team on new flavors and seasonal offerings, as well as supporting increased production during busy periods and special events.
- Hands-on experience with pastry production or baking, preferably including macarons or similar delicate desserts.
- Strong understanding of measuring, scaling, and following recipes with attention to detail and consistency.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper handling of ingredients and equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, manage time well, and meet production targets.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability, with the ability to take direction and collaborate with others.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift baking supplies, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, Monday to Friday.
- Previous bakery, pastry, or culinary experience preferred; formal culinary or pastry training is a plus.
- $17-$19 hourly
