Inova is looking for a dedicated, full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) needed for busy inpatient Urology service. Schedule is full time, Monday-Friday 8 hour days.

• Daily morning and afternoon rounding on inpatients and consults,
• Daily writing of progress notes
• Assessment and verbal presentation of ER and inpatient consults
• Writing of consult notes for attending review
• Performing or assisting with bedside procedures (for example: complex catheter placements (including intraoperatively for other surgical subspecialties), complex catheter removal, suprapubic catheter exchanges, urinary catheter irrigation for clot retention, irrigation of priapism, incision and drainage of scrotal abscesses, and others)
• Placing orders for admissions and discharges
• Ordering and interpreting labs and radiologic studies
• Fielding phone calls from beside nurses
• Multidisciplinary care coordination and patient education.
• Outpatient visits
• Some opportunity exists for first-assisting in the OR, as service needs permit or require.

• Work schedule: 8 hour shifts:
  Monday thru Friday
• Education: Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
• Experience
  :
  Prefer a provider with prior urology experience (inpatient or outpatient), or with a minimum of 2 years of any clinical experience.
• Board certified (ACNP or NCCPA certification)
• BLS
• Virginia License
• DEA
