Job Description
We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse for an RN Unit Supervisor position at our Level IV NICU at Inova Fairfax Hospital / Inova L.J. Children’s Hospital. The Unit Supervisor serves as a front‑line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit.
Responsibilities- Embraces, uses, and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools.
- Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision‑making structures and processes.
- Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility.
- Provides genuine acts of care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring and encouragement to all members of the healthcare team, to further enculturate Inova's care delivery model and results for all of Inova's strategic priorities.

- One year of nursing experience is required.
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN or ADN within one year of BSN completion.
- RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required from AHA.
- Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year from date of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- At least one year of leadership experience (charge, supervisory or management).
- At least one year of NICU nursing.
