Registered Nurse; RN NICU PRN

Job Description

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking a PRN, day/night shift Registered Nurse. This is a PRN position, and hours will be as needed. The schedule includes a minimum of 4 night shifts per six‑week schedule, with 2 weekend shifts. The candidate must be able to orient for both day and night shifts.

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital’s level III NICU is staffed 24 hours by highly experienced, board‑certified neonatologists, specially trained and certified nurses, and board‑certified lactation consultants. The NICU features 19 private rooms equipped to provide all necessary care without moving the baby. The nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 1:3.

• 1 year of experience as a registered nurse, with one year in NICU experience required.
• Basic Life Support certification through AHA.
• Licensed registered nurse or eligibility for licensure in Virginia.
• BSN from an accredited nursing school. If the RN has an associate degree, must complete a BSN within five years of the start date.

• 2 years or more of NICU nursing experience.
