Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor PACU

Job Description

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for an experienced Peri anesthesia RN for a Full-time Unit Supervisor position. Supervisory focus will be in PACU but will cross function with Pre Op.

Schedule:

Full-time 30 hours/week; alternating 3x12 and 2x12 shifts.

The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front-line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit.

• Embraces, uses, and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools.
• Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes.
• Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering  Service Always  and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility.
• Provides genuine acts of care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring and encouragement to all members of the healthcare team, to further enculturate Inova's care delivery model and results for all of Inova's strategic priorities.

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital (IFOH) is a top-ranked 182-bed acute care community hospital serving the rapidly growing suburbs of Northern Virginia that is committed to providing safe care, excellent service and is continuously striving to improve each patient's unique experience.

Located in western Fairfax County, IFOH's Pre-op has 20 bay unit that runs from  daily and the PACU has 26 bays that run from  daily M-F offering a comprehensive range of surgical specialties, including spine; joint replacement; retina; breast; gynecology; general; and bariatric weight loss. We perform over 10,000 surgical cases annually using some of the most advanced technology such as Stryker Mako Robotic-Assisted Joint Procedures, Globus Excelsius Robotic Spine Navigation Platform, Orth Align Precision Navigation and Medtronic Stealth Station Navigation.

• One year of nursing experience is required
• Degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN, or ADN within one year of BSN completion
• RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required from AHA

• 2 plus years PACU nursing experience to include Pre Op, Phase1 and 2 experience
• Minimum one year of supervisor or management experience (can include charge nursing)
