Lead With Heart. Care With Purpose.
Care Advantage is looking for a Director of Clinical Services to lead clinical excellence across our Fairfax, VA area - while staying hands‑on with the patients and families who need us most. This isn't a desk job. You'll carry your own patient census, be out in the field regularly, and provide the clinical leadership and supervision that keeps our nursing teams performing at their best.
If you're a Registered Nurse who thrives on both direct patient care and leading people
, this is the role where you get to do both - and make a real difference across Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun County, Prince William County, and the greater Northern Virginia region.
- Stay clinical. Maintain your own patient census and remain active in the field - assessments, care plans, hands‑on visits - not just oversight from behind a desk.
- Lead a team. Supervise and mentor office nursing staff, lead nurse meetings, and be the go‑to clinical resource across Care Advantage offices.
- Shape quality. Own infection control, competency testing, chart audits, and quality improvement initiatives that directly impact patient outcomes.
- Drive growth. Partner with office Administrators and the VP of Operations to grow services, support marketing efforts, and ensure every client gets the full scope of care they deserve.
- Champion compliance. Be the clinical voice in OLC and Medicaid audits, policy reviews, and regulatory readiness.
- Carry an active patient census and provide direct clinical care as part of your regular schedule
- Travel regularly across Fairfax and surrounding office locations to support staff, clients, and field operations
- Serve as an emergency office nurse backup across all Care Advantage locations
- Facilitate office nurse meetings and lead ongoing staff development
- Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations for office nurse staff
- Manage field staff education, monthly in‑services, and competency testing
- Oversee Medicaid Personal Care Aide Training compliance and CPR/clinical training support
- Audit client charts quarterly and monitor quality of care across the board
- Manage level‑of‑care reviews and service authorizations
- Review and update clinical policies and procedures annually
- Lead the annual Quality Improvement Meeting
- Partner on OLC and Medicaid audit readiness and corrective action plans
- Help office teams educate clients on the full range of available services
- Participate in community outreach and awareness efforts to grow the Care Advantage footprint
- Active RN license in Virginia (or ability to obtain)
- 5+ years of home care supervisory experience, with strong knowledge of home care rules and regulations
- Leadership, people‑management, and marketing instincts
- Comfort balancing field work and supervisory responsibilities - this role genuinely does both
- Strong communication skills and a track record of dependable, high‑quality work
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly across the Fairfax / Northern Virginia region, including occasional evenings or weekends
- Ability to meet physical demands of home care visits (standing, bending, lifting up to 10 lbs, etc.)
