Position Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist in Hematology is responsible for building and maintaining strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice, medical groups, office staff, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum. The role is field‑based, anticipating 100% time in the field with external customers to promote BMS medicines and drive demand within a defined territory.

The TAS engages HCPs through a differentiated customer experience, leveraging scientific dialogue, new ways of working, and consistent use of tools such as CE^3.

Key Responsibilities Portfolio Promotion
  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating a balanced clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Engages with and continuously maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and successfully implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Proactively uses available tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and dynamically inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise and passion using approved scientific resources to present accurate information to HCPs.
  • Conducts in‑office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) consistent with label and discusses product‑related scientific information with HCPs.
  • Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintains expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real‑time medical support through Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
Cross‑functional Collaboration
  • Proactively collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best customer experience for HCPs.
  • Gathers and shares relevant insights and information internally with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers and other influence networks.
  • Experience in Hematology/Oncology required.
  • Strong account management and selling competencies with a proven sales performance track record.
  • Strong cross‑functional teamwork skills and a positive mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a proven performance record.
