Position Overview

Specialist – Sport & Outdoor role in DICK’S Sporting Goods stores. Responsible for engaging athletes, driving sales, supporting service execution, and maintaining store standards.

• Delivering an outstanding athlete experience by proactively engaging athletes to understand their shopping needs and creating a world‑class experience, providing clear, accurate and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
• Assisting with onboarding and training of new and existing team members as a subject‑matter expert, focusing on best practices, sales skills and key operational processes.
• Demonstrating efficiency and effectiveness in process execution while maintaining an athlete‑first mindset, ensuring products are ready for purchase and athletes are engaged.
• Upholding merchandising and presentation standards by following floor plans, signage, pricing, inventory presentation, and replenishment standards.
• Promoting and driving customer participation in company programs such as customer loyalty, warranty sales and private‑label credit card enrollment.
• Creating a store environment where teammates and athletes are welcome and treated with respect, while adhering to safety, loss‑prevention and other policies.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.
• Previous retail or customer‑facing experience preferred.

Targeted pay range: $15.50 – $23.50 per hour. Starting rate may vary by location, experience and position offered. Salary will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage.
