What You’ll Do as a Territory Manager:
  • Be the Customer Champion – Own and nurture the customer relationship in a team‑based selling model. Educate customers on ordering platforms and provide menu consultations, product recommendations and pricing strategies to help customers succeed.

  • Drive Sales Success – Measure success by selling to customers, increasing case growth, and acquiring new business. Deliver impactful sales presentations and tailor the sales approach to individual customers. Effective time and territory management is critical.

  • Team Based Selling – Work collaboratively with Specialists to assist with top penetration opportunities and new account openings. Work closely with marketing, supply chain and customer service to ensure seamless product delivery.

  • Lead with Insight – Develop new business by identifying prospective customers using market intelligence databases, business directories, leads from existing clients, professional organizations, clubs, and trade shows.

  • Delivery Resolution – Manage deliveries according to the routing schedule published by the transportation department; troubleshoot any problems that occur during the order process.

  • Competitive Advantage – Know the market conditions, product innovations, competitors’ products, prices and sales; share information with customers as part of value‑added services.

  • Stay on the Move – Drive your personal motor vehicle to conduct regular check‑ins, site visits and follow‑ups to ensure customer satisfaction.

Supervision

No direct reports.

Work Environment

Daily outside the office environment, driving to customers in variable weather and temperature conditions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license required; motor‑vehicle record must be in good standing.
  • Food service industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships and make cold calls to develop new business.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals.
  • Problem‑solving ability, organization and negotiation skills.
  • Team‑up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tech‑savviness – proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs.

Compensation depends on relevant experience, education, specific skills, function, geographic location and other factors. The initial expected base rate for this role is between $55,000 and $95,000. The role may receive incentive compensation.
