We are seeking a Part-Time Evening & Overnight Security Officer with a shift differential to protect hospital-controlled properties and equipment and provide a safe and secure environment for Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (NVMHI).
Responsibilities include:
- Patrol the facility grounds and buildings, ensuring that areas are secure and safety issues are addressed.
- Respond to behavioral emergencies.
- Escort individuals on Special Hospitalizations.
- Patrol nursing units every 15 minutes.
- Process electronic fingerprinting.
- Ensure equipment temperatures are functioning properly.
- Respond to alarms and support emergency management programs.
- Transport individuals and provide support to the switchboard/reception.
- Prepare written reports and use Microsoft products.
- Follow Virginia state codes, laws, and regulations; follow written and oral instructions; communicate effectively in writing and verbally; use interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships.
- Work mandatory overtime as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Evening Shift
Hours:
3:30 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Overnight Shift
Hours:
11:30 p.m. – 8 a.m.
- Experience in a security/safety position required.
- Current state motor vehicle operator’s license required.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Computer skills with Microsoft products.
- Report writing a plus.
- Experience with mental health population a plus.
