HVAC Specialist Security Clearance

Overview

IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is a recognized leader in Facilities Management and Operations in support of Defense, Intelligence, and National Security missions. Under a major Intelligence Community contract, IAP operates and maintains facilities, systems, and associated grounds across Virginia and Maryland. Services include comprehensive facility operations; project management for renovations, minor construction, and major equipment repairs; engineering, construction, and operations support;

custodial and grounds maintenance; environmental, safety, and occupational health support; food services; motorpool and logistics operations; and physical and technical security services.

• Coordinates and performs inspections on HVAC systems and components (e.g., heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventive maintenance.
• Performs installations of HVAC equipment and systems and monitors repairs on systems and/or components (e.g., pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping).
• Coordinates with HVAC Lead and/or Trade Shop Supervisor on completing projects and work orders efficiently.
• Diagnoses cause of problems and/or failures in HVAC systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
• Tracks performance of routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the availability of HVAC systems.
• Prepares written reports (work order status, activity logs, etc.) for documenting activities and conveying information.
• Requests equipment and supplies to maintain correct inventory amounts and ensure availability of items required to complete installations and/or repairs.
• Responds to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
• Performs other duties as requested.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have at least six (6) years of HVAC experience.

• Journeyman HVAC License required
• CFC/HFC certification preferred

• Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools common to trade.
• Ability to interpret and apply codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings is required.
• Must have knowledge of operation/installation of a variety of complete HVAC systems/equipment.
