Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Security Systems Installation
IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is a recognized leader in Facilities Management and Operations in support of Defense, Intelligence, and National Security missions. Under a major Intelligence Community contract, IAP operates and maintains facilities, systems, and associated grounds across Virginia and Maryland. Services provided include comprehensive facility operations; project management for renovations, minor construction, and major equipment repairs;
engineering, construction, and operations support; custodial and grounds maintenance services; environmental, safety, and occupational health support; food services; motorpool and logistics operations; and physical and technical security services.
- Perform system impairments, restorations, and documentation in compliance with IC security and safety protocols.
- Diagnose system deficiencies and execute corrective actions with minimal disruption to mission operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and fire protection drawings.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, deficiency reports, and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with facility managers, engineers, and security personnel in secure environments.
- Support system upgrades, retrofits, and acceptance testing.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and inventory in accordance with company and site requirements.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and confidentiality regulations at IC facilities.
- NICET Level III or Level IV Certification in Water-Based Systems (required).
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience working with water-based fire sprinkler systems.
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 13, 20, 25, and related standards.
- Proven ability to work independently in high‑security, mission‑critical environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and construction drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
- Prior experience working in Intelligence Community, DoD, or other secure federal facilities.
- Experience with pre‑action and special hazard systems.
