As a Software Developer Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of GDIT customers. You will play a crucial role in designing, modernizing, and delivering secure, scalable cloud‑native applications that directly advance the customer’s mission objectives.
Responsibilities- Lead/Manage/Support the design, development, and modernization of complex Azure‑hosted applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and mission alignment
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams, cloud architects, cyber security teams, product owners, and stakeholders to develop secure and innovative solutions in an Agile environment
- Drive continuous delivery, automation, cloud adoption, and modernization initiatives to improve system efficiency, resilience, and operational effectiveness. Utilize Azure native services, ASP.NET Core, Angular, SQL Server, automation scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development frameworks to deliver high‑quality solutions
- Support modernization of legacy applications in Azure
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and Dev Ops delivery practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Security clearance level:
Public Trust - Must be a US person

Azure Fundamentals
- Azure cloud development with Azure IaaS and PaaS
- Azure native services (Logic Apps, App Service, Function App)
- ASP.NET Core and C# backend API development
- Angular (v10+), Type Script, HTML5, CSS3
- CI/CD pipeline development with Azure Dev Ops (Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts)
- Git‑based version control and Agile delivery
- Microsoft SQL Server (stored procedures, performance, complex queries)
- Java development (Servlet, JSP, Spring Boot, Maven)
- Scripting with Power Shell, YAML, or Bash
- REST API integration and secure authentication (OAuth/JWT)
- RESTful API design and application integration
- Automation of build, deployment, or cloud operations
- SQL Server integration within modern application architectures
- Experience using cloud‑native patterns and modern development frameworks
- Azure Certifications
- Adobe Cold Fusion 2018–2023 development
- Application modernization and migration of legacy Cold Fusion systems

The likely salary range for this position is $112,840 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
