CGI is seeking an enthusiastic, creative junior full stack developer for a high‑performing Agile team designing and building a modern, services‑based web application for a large government agency. Our team uses a modern development stack including Java, Spring Boot, Angular, PostgreSQL, Docker, and various open‑source technologies. You will help build and design an enterprise web application used by government agencies, states, and industry to comply with federal reporting requirements and to share and visualize data.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA, Lafayette, LA, or Knoxville, TN office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

• Define and code the ongoing architecture and development of a Java/Spring application.
• Participate in all phases of an Agile software development lifecycle, including application design, estimating development activities, authoring application code, participating in code reviews, and demonstrating the software.
• Author and review web application code in Java, JavaScript, Spring framework, Angular, SQL, etc.
• Participate in daily team discussions and code collaboration to promote continuous progress.
• Participate in client, industry, and end user discussions to provide technical viewpoint on the application.
• Participate in technical design sessions to create sustainable, high‑performing features and provide accurate estimates and development timelines.
• Continuously improve existing development tools and technologies.
• Author automated testing scripts for the application.
• Augment and improve system architecture.
• General understanding of database design and optimizing application access to backend data.
• Direct interaction with clients and end users to understand software needs and discuss architectural and technical design choices.

• Background in Java development with full‑stack experience including modern Angular versions.
• Experience developing with Spring framework.
• Familiarity with RESTful web services and how to use them effectively to support a dynamic UI.
• Knowledge of SQL and database tools to design and support the back end of a web application.
• Demonstrated experience in web application development (at least 1 year).
• Understanding of modern Java, Angular, JavaScript, SQL coding practices.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a dynamic team environment and continuously deliver quality code for team review and product owner demonstration.
• Experience with modern Java software development environment and tools such as Maven, Git, Tomcat, Eclipse, Bamboo, etc.
• Understanding of RESTful service development.
• Confident communication skills with internal team members as well as customers.
• Ability to quickly research, learn, and apply emerging technologies within the software development industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline.
• Positive, can‑do attitude and desire to contribute to team success.
