Responsibilities
- Operate a mechanical or vacuum sweeper truck to clean roadways, jobsite access points, staging areas, and haul routes.
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections. Document defects and coordinate repairs.
- Maintain daily logs, load tickets, and service records in accordance with DOT and company policy.
- Monitor dust control needs. Coordinate with water truck, tack, and paving crews to minimize airborne dust and track‑out.
- Safely navigate active construction zones, traffic, and uneven terrain. Follow traffic control plans and flaggers.
- Empty hoppers, manage collected debris, and dispose of materials per environmental regulations.
- Execute basic preventative maintenance. Check broom height, wear, vacuum system, hydraulic lines, belts, and fluids.
- Maintain a truck log in accordance with state, federal regulations, and company policy.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, weight limits, and truck safety procedures.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating a CDL B Sweeper Truck on construction job sites.
- Ability to read and follow traffic control plans and supervisor instructions.
- Valid CDL B license with a clean driving record.
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and adapt to various weather conditions.
