Independence Preparatory Academy is a new, academically challenging K‑8 school in Fairfield, AL that opened its doors to 60 students in kindergarten through second grade in August 2025 and plans to grow to a total capacity of 485 students through eighth grade.

We are seeking a Physical Education Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field (Alabama certification preferred) with 1–2+ years of teaching or coaching experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA and a strong desire to grow in a feedback‑driven, high‑expectations environment.
Responsibilities
  • Teach at Independence Preparatory Academy, helping build a high‑performing school from the ground up.
  • Receive weekly coaching and 6+ hours of protected planning time.
  • Teach in a structured, joyful, and academically rigorous environment.
  • See real student growth through data‑driven instruction.

  • Ensure scholars demonstrate growth in physical fitness and motor skills.

Salary

The salary range for this position is between $48,000 and $61,000, competitive and aligned to experience and internal equity.
