Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Compliance

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to support a manufacturing-focused organization on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to advise, coach, and strengthen financial operations in a short-term consulting environment. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise across core accounting functions while helping internal stakeholders build confidence in financial processes and system usage.

Responsibilities:

- Lead month-end and period-end close activities, ensuring financial results are accurate, timely, and well supported.

- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial records.

- Manage finance-related tax activities, including payroll tax oversight and compliance with reporting obligations.

- Provide guidance on retirement plan administration matters, including support related to 401(k) processes and financial coordination.

- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal teams by sharing best practices across accounting operations and financial controls.

- Deliver training and practical instruction to staff on the organization's manufacturing accounting system or a comparable ERP platform used in production environments.

- Review existing accounting workflows and recommend improvements that increase consistency, visibility, and operational effectiveness.

- Partner with leadership to address short-term financial priorities while creating a foundation for longer-term stability in the role. Requirements
