POSITION
The Management Analyst provides management support and serves as a liaison between assigned County departments, the County Administrative Office, and the Solano County Board of Supervisors. They review and analyze budget requests, expenditures, agenda items, contracts, and other items requiring approval, monitor programmatic, personnel, and fiscal activities of assigned County departments, and provide consultation and information to the Board and County management team.
The role produces budgets, agenda reports, and policy reports for the County.
This is an at‑will, exempt position.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Review and analyze budget requests, expenditures, agenda items, contracts, and other items requiring approval.
- Monitor programmatic, personnel, and fiscal activities across assigned County departments.
- Provide consultation to departments and report to the Board and County management team.
- Produce budgets, agenda reports, and policy reports for the County.
- Five or more years of experience in the public sector involving fiscal operations and analysis, budget development, financial/budget analysis, legislative analysis, and operational management.
- Experience leading or managing a team of analysts and support staff.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to identify challenges, devise analytical strategies, and balance strategic thinking with realistic planning.
- Positive outlook, aptitude for multitasking in a fast‑paced environment, honesty, integrity, diplomacy, patience, strong work ethic, and sense of humor.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, economics, political science, public financial management, or a closely related field is required; a master’s degree is desirable.
Management Analyst (Senior)
Salary: $ – $ per year.
- Minimum five years of public‑sector experience in fiscal operations, budget development, financial analysis, and management.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Management Analyst (Principal)
Salary: $ – $ per year.
- Minimum five years of public‑sector experience, with at least two years at an advanced‑journey level comparable to the Senior class.
- Bachelor’s degree in public financial management, business/public administration, economics, policy analysis, or related fields; a master’s degree is desirable.
