We are an established, award-winning landscape design–build–maintain company with 38 years of experience
, known for our commitment to sustainability, quality craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service
. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a combined estimating, project supervision, and client relations role.
Most projects are located within 30 minutes of our Pleasant Hill office and consist primarily of mid- to high-end residential landscapes
.
- Prepare detailed estimates for in-house landscape designs and architectural plans
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates using and continuously improving our Excel-based estimating system
- Estimate projects including grading, irrigation, gas and electrical, lighting, carpentry, water features, masonry, and related scope
- Write clear, professional proposals using company templates
- Collaborate with designers on takeoffs, constructability input, and preliminary budgeting
- Adjust estimating assumptions based on collected crew productivity data
- Assist the owner and designers in supervising installation projects to ensure work aligns with plans, proposals, and company standards
- Coordinate task sequencing, scheduling, and material ordering
- Work closely with foremen, subcontractors, and property owners to anticipate needs and communicate next steps
- Provide samples, mockups, and recommendations as needed
- Educate clients and team members when appropriate
- Manage changes, owner requests, and internal adjustments; identify upsell opportunities when appropriate
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, laws, regulations, and inspections
- Assist in troubleshooting construction or installation issues
- Minimum 10 years of hands‑on field experience
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods, materials, and best practices
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read blueprints, perform takeoffs, and take accurate measurements (including use of a laser level)
- Ability to create rough sketches and grading plans
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with clients, designers, crew members, and subcontractors
- Warm, professional, and positive demeanor to represent the company
- Ability to manage personnel, clients, and subcontractors effectively
- Valid driver’s license and good DMV record
- Degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering
- Strong horticultural knowledge
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
- Familiarity with sustainable landscape practices
- Comfort using AI tools and modern construction/estimating technology
- Sales ability and client‑focused mindset
- Ability to perform small repairs as needed
- Non-smoker preferred
