You will serve as a hands-on leader and technical expert in the field, responsible for reading and interpreting engineering plans, coordinating work, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards. This is not a traditional new construction concrete foreman role;

it focuses on specialized foundation and structural repair work using advanced piering and lifting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field crews of 3–12 employees on commercial foundation repair, underpinning, structural stabilization, and concrete restoration projects.
  • Work hands-on alongside crews to install helical piers, push piers, tiebacks, and other structural support systems in accordance with engineering plans.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, and translate them into clear, actionable tasks for the crew.
  • Plan daily work activities, organize jobsite setup, and ensure all equipment, materials, and tools are available and used correctly.
  • Operate and oversee use of equipment such as forklifts, skid steers/Bobcats, hydraulic jacks and lifting systems, and other general construction equipment.
  • Execute building lifting, settlement remediation, and structural stabilization procedures safely and accurately.
  • Monitor work quality throughout each project, maintain company quality standards, and hold crews accountable for workmanship and productivity.
  • Enforce and model a strong safety culture, including compliance with OSHA, confined space, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct jobsite safety meetings, ensure proper use of PPE, and identify and mitigate potential hazards on site.
  • Communicate effectively with field leadership, operations, and other stakeholders regarding project status, challenges, and resource needs.
  • Coordinate with operations and field leadership to schedule work, manage timelines, and support efficient project execution.
  • Train and mentor crew members on technical methods, equipment operation, safety practices, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain accurate understanding of project scope and sequencing to ensure work is completed correctly the first time without cutting corners.
  • Travel to various regional project sites throughout California as required, including overnight stays when needed.
  • Model strong attendance, reliability, and professionalism, setting the standard for crew behavior and performance.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of foreman or crew leadership experience leading crews of 3–12 employees.
  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably in foundation repair, underpinning, structural stabilization, or concrete restoration.
  • Proven experience in commercial construction environments with a strong understanding of jobsite operations and sequencing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and blueprints and apply them to field operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to direct, motivate, and hold crews accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Hands-on experience with helical piers and piering systems in commercial or structural repair applications.
  • Experience with foundation repair, underpinning, structural stabilization, settlement remediation, or building lifting.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with crews, field leadership, and operations teams.
  • Ability to maintain high quality standards and attention to detail while working efficiently.
  • Safety-focused mindset with experience enforcing safety protocols on active construction sites.
  • OSHA 30 certification (required or strongly preferred).
  • Confined Space certification (preferred).
  • Experience operating forklifts and skid steers/Bobcats or similar heavy equipment.
  • Clean driving record suitable for operating company vehicles and traveling to job sites.
  • Ability and willingness to work a 4x10 schedule (Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM) with occasional Friday work and overtime as needed.
