The City of Fairfield is seeking experienced 911 Dispatchers for full‑time and part‑time roles within the Fairfield Police Department. Dispatchers play a vital role in managing emergency and non‑emergency calls, ensuring community safety and effective communication.
The positions require candidates to be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma, and a P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatch Certificate. A thorough background investigation and certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch is also required within one year of hire.
Candidates who are bilingual, particularly in Spanish, are encouraged to apply. The role includes a rotating shift schedule including weekends and holidays.
