Solano Community College District is a single college district that serves one of the most ethnically and racially diverse counties in California. Located on the ancestral lands of the Patwin people, Solano Community College’s Fairfield campus is in the heart of Suisun Valley midway between San Francisco and Sacramento. We also serve students at centers in Vallejo and Vacaville, at Travis Air Force Base, and at three correctional facilities.
Our facilities include a new library and learning center, science labs, and lecture rooms.
We invite you to join us in providing equitable and anti-racist education that honors and empowers the students of Solano Community College.
About the DivisionStudents learn in modern science teaching laboratories. The Biotechnology/Science Building in Vacaville hosts state-of-the-art teaching laboratories, and the Fairfield campus features a new Science Building. Cell and Molecular Biology is a central component of the Biology Program and serves as a portal to other science fields like biotechnology. The department offers a robust Biology Majors’ Program and teaches non-majors General Education biology courses.
The Biomanufacturing Bachelor of Science Degree is centered at the Vacaville facility, one of only four such degrees in the state.
We want instructors who care about students, equitable pedagogy, and the future of our community. We are looking for individuals who are creative and innovative in achieving these goals.
