The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory Educational Technician (Child Development), GS-1702-07, Travis AFB, CA. The primary purpose is to assist with the oversight and coordinate specialized developmental care for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age in the child development program. To serve as a senior educational technician and provide support and guidance to appropriated fund (APF) employees, non-appropriated fund (NAF) employees, and other employees as assigned.
Facilitates appropriate instruction for children in assigned areas of responsibility. The incumbent may be designated as the supervisor on duty, as needed, in operation of the center during extended hours and in the absence of the Assistant Director and/or Director.
This position can close at any time.
Annual Salary starts at $63,081.

No - Knowledge of comprehensive child development requirements, policies, procedures and processes. Knowledge of appropriate early childhood guidance practices, techniques and programs.
- Knowledge of physical, intellectual, social, emotional and nutritional stages of development of young children in applying basic child development principles, concepts, practices to perform CDC operation assignments.
- Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing.
- Ability to adapt planned activities for children’s individual skills.
- Ability to to ensure the safety and hygiene of chlidren through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space and proper management of equipment.
- Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
- Ability and skill to lead subordinate employees and foster effective working relationship with others.
