Position: Biotechnology Instructor (PT)
Set in the tranquil valley of Solano County, an area rich with agriculture, Native American history and wine production, Solano Community College is ideally located along the I-80 corridor between San Francisco and Sacramento within minutes of the Napa/Sonoma Valley. In addition to the campus in Fairfield, the College has two centers in Vallejo and Vacaville as well as a state-of-the-art School of Aeronautics at the Nut Tree Airport.

The College also offers additional courses at Travis Air Force Base and two correctional facilities.
Our science facilities are set to bring our students success for many decades to come. The new state of the art facility in Vacaville and an equivalently stunning facility at the main campus in Fairfield are packed full with modern equipment and amazing instructors. The most recent addition to our offerings is the Biomanufacturing Bachelor of Science Degree centered at the new Vacaville facility, one of only two such degrees in the state.

Solano Community College is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments in the biotechnology department. In general, we may have a need for faculty in any biotechnology and biomanufacturing area during any semester including summer. The start months are August, January, and June in each year. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitments.

Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, and condensed format courses. The district may cancel classes or change instructors as enrollment needs are determined. Recruitments are now active and we are looking for experienced professionals to add key components to the certificate and AS degree programs in biotechnology as well as our BS degree in biomanufacturing program. In particular, we are looking for lab skills.
If the candidate would want to teach online for Solano College, training and approval is required.
Paid office hours are available to adjunct faculty in fall and spring semesters who teach a 40% assignment or more. Summer term placements do not have paid office hour status.

In your cover letter, please address any specific areas of expertise.
