The Fairfield Police Activities League ("PAL") Teen Center is looking for amazing team members to support program staff and help teens grow, learn, and have fun. Responsibilities- PAL Recreation Specialists lead program participants in a variety of activities in an assigned program or service area, including but not limited to:
- recreation activities
- health and fitness programs
- prevention programs
- special events
- marketing functions
Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
License and/or Certificate: Depending on assignment, possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License may be required. Possession of a valid equivalent is acceptable during the application process.
Other duties: Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for monitoring program and site rules, policies and regulations.
- Provide courteous and professional service to all program participants, facility users, City personnel and the public.
- Monitor behavior of program participants.
- Conduct set up and clean-up of facility and equipment; may be charged with the opening and closing duties.
- Assist with miscellaneous office tasks, i.e. retrieving and distributing mail, receiving shipments, delivering items to program sites.
Knowledge of:
- A wide variety of recreation programs and activities including active and passive games, arts and crafts, dramatic arts, nature and science, and special events.
- Modern office equipment, including computers.
Ability to:
- Work with a wide variety of recreation programs and activities including active and passive games, arts and crafts, dramatic arts, nature and science, and special events.
- Use equipment used in the area of specialization.
- Work cooperatively in a team environment and nurture the development of staff.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule dependent upon program requirements.
- Possess and maintain a positive "can do" attitude.
