Solano County invites your interest in applying for a Law Clerk (College Intern‑Graduate Level) Internship in one of our legal departments:
County Counsel, District Attorney, and Public Defender.
College Intern positions offer college students or graduates practical work experience through projects related to the student’s field of study—law.
This recruitment will be used to fill current and future positions.
Position Requirements EducationGraduate Level: Completion of a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university within the past one year, or current enrollment in a post‑Bachelor’s law school program. Proof is required.
ExperienceNo experience is required.
Special RequirementsPossession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License may be required.
Document SubmittalProof of education is required. All applicants must submit either a copy of their law school diploma (verifying the degree, date earned, and area of specialization), official/unofficial transcripts (verifying institution, student, date, and degree conferred), or transcripts verifying current enrollment in a law school program by the final filing deadline.
Students from institutions accredited by a foreign or non‑U.S. accrediting agency must have their educational units evaluated by an educational evaluation service. The result must be submitted to the Human Resources Department no later than the close of the recruitment.

Qualified applicants may be invited for further examination, which may include an initial application screening, a mandatory information meeting, a supplemental questionnaire assessment, a written and/or practical exam, an oral board exam, or a combination of these. All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase.
All potential new hires will be subject to a background and reference check after a contingent job offer is accepted.
