Overview
Solano County's Health and Social Services, Older and Disabled Adult Services (ODAS) is hiring for Deputy Public Administrator/Public Guardian/Public Conservator. ODAS provides services to older adults (60+), disabled adults (18–59), and minors with disabilities to sustain health and well-being, support independent lifestyles, and promote safety and security in Solano County.

- The Public Guardian's Office (PG)
- In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)
- Public Authority (PA)
- Napa and Solano Area Agency on Aging (AAA)

The PositionAs a Solano County Deputy Public Administrator/Public Guardian/Public Conservator, the role supports clients who are conserved under the Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) conservatorship and works on settling decedent estates. This position requires social and fiscal case management for conserved clients, including making decisions on behalf of clients; investigating new referrals; and collection, inventory, and disposition of estate assets.
Incumbents perform case management, estate management, technical paralegal duties, and related duties involving conservatorship and/or decedent estates under the jurisdiction of the Public Administrator/Public Guardian/Public Conservators Office. The role follows applicable laws and procedures to provide client and estate management services as a Deputy Public Administrator/Public Guardian/Public Conservator.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate care and compassion for clients, understand the limitations of gravely disabled individuals, collaborate as a team to advocate for conserved clients, provide clear documentation on all case management activities, follow legal requirements and court orders, and prioritize competing daily tasks. Experience may include case management of older and disabled adults and work on multi-disciplinary teams. The eligible list may be used to fill full-time, part-time, limited-term, or extra-help positions as vacancies occur countywide.
Position Requirements Experience and Education- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Welfare, Psychology or related field,
AND one year of recent work experience in probate of estates, legal guardianship, conservatorship, estate management, or social work. - OR
- An Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Welfare, Psychology or related field,
AND three years of recent work experience in probate of estates, legal guardianship, conservatorship, estate management, or social work. - OR
- A total of thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter units from an accredited college with major coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Welfare, Psychology, or related field,
AND five years of recent work experience in probate of estates, legal guardianship, conservatorship, estate management, or social work.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required.
- Ability to be bonded.
- Candidates may be required to pass a background investigation in accordance with applicable law, regulation and/or policy.
