The DBA/Sr.Level 3 Application Support Technician provides advanced technical support for enterprise applications used across County departments. This position serves as the highest escalation point for application-related issues, ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of critical systems. The technician works closely with internal teams, vendors, and end-users to resolve complex incidents, implement system enhancements, and support strategic IT initiatives. This role is essential to maintaining continuity of public services and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Serve as the highest-level technical support for enterprise applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, including integrations and database-related problems.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement patches, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Monitor application performance and proactively address potential issues.
- Lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
- Maintain documentation of application environments and support procedures.
- Ensure compliance with CJIS, HIPAA, and records retention policies.
- Participate in change management and release cycles.
- Mentor junior support staff and provide technical guidance.
Job Skills
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for enterprise applications.
- Proficiency in SQL, scripting, and working with APIs or middleware.
- Experience with application performance monitoring and incident response.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., Service Now,) and ticket lifecycle management.
- Ability to manage application upgrades, patches, and integrations.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Deep understanding of enterprise systems such as ERP, permitting, financial, or case management platforms.
- Knowledge of Windows environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure).
- Understanding of data privacy, security standards, and compliance frameworks (e.g., CJIS, HIPAA).
- ITIL framework and change management best practices.
- Analyze and resolve complex application issues independently.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
- Mentor and support junior technical staff.
- Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
