Information Technology Analyst IV (Cloud Data Engineer)
Solano County Department of Information Technology (DoIT) provides customer‑oriented and convenient access to information and services through technology anytime, anywhere. The County strives for cost‑effective use of technology, facilitating data sharing among departments, with constituents, and with other government and business partners. Guiding principles of DoIT include supporting and facilitating access to County information, supporting business goals efficiently, providing safe and secure systems, offering ongoing technology training, enabling technology use for constituents, and sharing information through multiple channels.
ResponsibilitiesIncumbents in this class act as team leaders/project managers for designated major systems, performing advanced technical support to system users. They provide lead direction to software development, network/systems administration, service desk, or security and database systems, other IT analysts, and consultants on systems design, infrastructure, and maintenance projects. This role requires complex, high‑level duties to support the Cloud Data Engineering functions as outlined in the job series.
IdealCandidate
The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced knowledge in modern data warehouse technologies, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Kimball data modeling, facts and dimensions design, Medallion Architecture, ETL development using SSIS and Azure Data Factory, and proficiency in SQL, Python, and R. Experience with Power BI, Dev Ops, Purview, and Dynamics CRM is highly desirable. Preferred certifications include Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure AI Associate, Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solution Architect, DAMA CDMP, and Power BI Data Analyst.
Position Requirements- Equivalent to an associate’s degree in information technology or a closely related field. A bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
- Five (5) years of experience in progressively responsible software development, infrastructure management, or related functions.
- Valid California Driver’s License, Class
