JOB SUMMARYThe Patient Service Technician is responsible for delivering and picking up equipment from home‑care patients, ensuring they receive proper instructions and support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Deliver and pick up equipment from home‑care patients.
- Set up equipment and instruct patients on basic use.
- Assist patients in solving problems regarding equipment use.
- Schedule and organize daily deliveries and pickups according to geographic territory.
- Load and unload durable medical or infusion equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies onto delivery vehicle.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory requirements, including providing documents needed for the driver qualification file and abiding by hours of service, daily log, hazardous materials placarding, training and shipping papers, and vehicle inspection and maintenance regulations.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick‑up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Distribute paperwork to appropriate personnel.
- Notify supervisor if any of the following is discovered in the patient’s home: physical abuse of any family member, unsanitary conditions that compromise the care ordered, insufficient food for children, or animals that cause unsanitary conditions.
- Maintain daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports.
- Ensure vehicles are in proper working condition and preventive maintenance is performed timely according to DOT, FDA, and Joint Commission guidelines.
- Respond to emergency delivery calls as needed and on an on‑call basis.
- May clean and assist with the repair of equipment.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, checking gasoline, oil, tire pressure, and brakes.
- Report malfunction to supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma.
- At least one year of related work experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
- Minimum of three years driving history.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Successful completion of Apria Healthcare’s Driver Training Program.
- Must meet all job‑related regulatory requirements from the DOT, FDA, and Joint Commission.

The job requires frequent hand use, reaching, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, and occasional running. The employee may need to travel by plane or automobile, operate a motor vehicle, perform manual lifts ranging from 10 to 160 pounds, and work in varied weather and traffic conditions. Specific vision requirements include close, distant, and low‑light vision. Regular electronic, sonic, and visual tasks are involved, and the employee must carry out hands‑on tasks such as gripping, lifting, pulling, and using hand‑held devices.
WORKENVIRONMENT
Employees operate in a range of environments, from controlled indoor settings to outdoor and nighttime conditions. Noise levels range from low to high, and there is occasional exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and cleaning agents. Employees may need to wear personal protective equipment and comply with strict safety standards for handling cryogenic fluids and other hazardous materials.
