The ideal candidate has strong experience purchasing components in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working in a startup or high-growth setting. This person will source and develop suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, manage purchase orders, and ensure materials are delivered on time to support production.
Key Responsibilities:- Own procurement activities for prototype and production builds.
- Source, qualify, and manage suppliers across components, fabricated parts, electronics, machined parts, plastics, wiring, and other manufactured goods.
- Manage purchase requisitions, POs, delivery schedules, and supplier performance.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and other commercial agreements.
- Expedite critical orders and proactively address supply risks or production disruptions.
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to understand specifications, design requirements, and production needs.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions when required.
- Support quality processes including FAIRs and NCRs.
- Identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.
- Help establish scalable procurement processes, systems, and supplier networks as the company grows.
Qualifications:
- 5–10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably within manufacturing, automotive, electronics, medical devices, or a similar environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end purchasing and supplier relationships.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel functions.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing teams.
Experience with PLM, ERP, or business intelligence platforms such as Arena, Onshape, Fishbowl, Retool, or similar systems.
