Program / Project Manager, Healthcare Management
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
- Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
- Directs the daily activities including investigations of complaints and biting animals.
- Provides proper training for Animal Control Officers.
- Assists in preparation of the department’s annual budget.
- Enforces state and local laws regarding animal control.
- Assists with animal abuse or neglect cases and may provide court testimony.
- Assists Director in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for all phases of activities within the department.
- Ensures compliance of program activities to pertinent codes, regulations and guidelines. Monitors issues related to animal control and care and evaluates their impact and implements policy and procedural improvements.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Four years (4) years of animal control or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Physical DemandsPhysical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing virtually all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of mechanical or electronic office or shop machines or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
UnavoidableHazards (Work Environment)
Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
- Involves routine and frequent exposure to:
- Bright/dim light;
Dusts and pollen. - Extreme heat and/or cold;
Wet or humid conditions. - Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife.

- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
