Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Technician – Injection to support the operation, optimization, and reliability of Husky PET injection molding systems in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties- Process Control & Optimization:
Optimize injection molding processes—including speed/pressure profiles, screw recovery, hold/pack pressure, cycle time, quality checks, defect troubleshooting, and documentation. - Husky System Operation & Troubleshooting:
Operate Husky G‑Line and HyPET systems; troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and process issues; diagnose hydraulic instability, servo faults, cooling inefficiencies, valve gate malfunctions, PLC communication problems; coordinate with OEM support. - Mold Changeovers & Startup:
Lead and support mold/core changeovers; perform mold installation, alignment, utility connections, hot‑runner verification, robot EOAT setup; start up machines, update process sheets, validate systems. - Daily Machine & Process Verification:
Verify machines run per process sheets; confirm mold identification, cavitation, color system, robot sensors, photo‑eyes; report discrepancies. - Maintenance & Equipment Reliability:
Support preventive and predictive maintenance; perform basic maintenance tasks such as replacing valves, hoses, fittings, clearing blockages, replacing seals; assist with mold/runner PMs, cooling systems, dryers, robotics. - Color Systems & Material Handling:
Perform color changes, clean mixers, load color processes; troubleshoot discoloration, plugged lines, vacuum/blower systems. - Mold & Auxiliary Equipment Support:
Minor mold maintenance and repairs; address leaks, flash conditions, mechanical issues; support cavity blocking. - Safety & Compliance:
Follow safety procedures including LOTO; adhere to GMP and plant safety policies; complete required safety training. - Communication & Documentation:
Communicate machine and quality issues to supervisors; document process changes, shift activities, maintenance actions, logs, reports, and SAP entries. - Continuous Improvement:
Support improvements in changeover efficiency, process stability, equipment reliability, and production output; participate in Lean Manufacturing and plant initiatives.
- High School Diploma or GED; post‑secondary education in technical fields (millwright, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial maintenance) preferred.
- 3–5 years experience with high‑speed injection molding equipment, preferably Husky PET systems.
- Experience in high‑speed manufacturing environments.
- Maintenance and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional interaction.
- Problem‑solving and analytical ability.
- Basic computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office).
- Flexibility for overtime or off‑shift support.
Starting salary expected @ $42.55‑44.55 per hour, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay based on national averages; geographic differential may apply. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan or Sales Incentive Plan, plus medical coverage and other benefits.
