Position: Pan Operator (Trainee) - 2nd Shift

COMPENSATION: This position pays within a range of $21.50 – $25.95 per hour, as an hourly non-exempt employee, paid weekly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of tasks in all panning disciplines as assigned by the supervisor, including the panning of confectionery products.
  • Load and unload coating pans as required.
  • Accurately measure and add flavors and/or colors into panning syrups, as directed by written instructions, usually in English.
  • Produce intermediate flavor blends and other specific products for use in confectionery, as directed by written instructions, usually in English.
  • Gather, mix, and package specific materials involved in the production of confectionery product.
  • Calculate, compile, and report production volumes as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Safely operate a manual or powered pallet jack, and may be required to operate powered lift equipment including specialized (narrow aisle) equipment.
  • Maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of employment as may be assigned.
  • Attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
  • Work all scheduled hours (overtime is mandatory as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement).
Qualifications
  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    High school diploma or GED; or three to five years related experience or nine months structured on-the-job training. Education equivalency acceptable.
  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Physical Demands: Stand regularly; walk frequently; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally; sit, talk, or hear occasionally; lift and/or move up to 35 pounds regularly; seek assistance for lifting over 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; noise level usually loud.
