Packaging Production Worker 1st and 2nd Shift

Position Requirements

Overtime required. May work varying start and end times, weekends according to business needs.

• 7:00am – 3:30pm
• 3:00pm – 12:00am

A Packaging Production Worker reports to the Packaging Supervisor and plays a key role in delivering quality candy products. Responsibilities include packaging product, inspecting, and assembling cartons or cases.

• Pack cases or caddies.
• Gather, mix, and feed packaging equipment with product.
• Mark cases or cartons.
• Inspect product.
• Assemble cartons or cases.
• Perform unassisted, constant, repetitive lifting of materials weighing 25 lbs.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following skills are required or preferred.

• Language Skills
  :
  Ability to read and recognize limited 2-3 syllable words and series of numbers; ability to write and speak simple sentences in English.
• Mathematical Skills
  :
  Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
• Reasoning Ability
  :
  Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions; ability to handle standardized situations with no or few variables.

• Less than high school education; or 3 to 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee must regularly stand, use hands and arms to handle objects, frequently walk, occasionally sit, and regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may be required to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted, and must seek assistance for lifts over 50 pounds.

Works near moving mechanical parts; noise level usually moderate.

• Upon Hire: $23.33
• Completion of 60 Working Days: $26.95
• Completion of 1 Year: $28.29
• Completion of 1 1/2 Year and Fully Qualified: $30.20
• 2nd Shift shift differential: $1.00 per hour
