About the Position
This position is located at 60th Medical Group, Hematology and Oncology, within David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, CA. It is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for candidates new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
EligibilityUS Citizens only. In order to qualify, a candidate must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs, professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, or social organizations. Candidates will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Resumes must clearly describe relevant experience; transcripts may be required if qualifying based on education.
BasicRequirements
- Degree: A degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This may be a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or diploma. The program must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
A copy of transcripts is required. - Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory; and the candidate must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
- Foreign Degree:
Graduates of foreign nursing schools must complete the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools Certification Program, including credential evaluation, the CGFNS Qualifying Exam, and an approved English Language Proficiency examination. A copy of the CGFNS Certificate is required. - Exemption:
Current federal employees occupying a position in the 0610 occupational series and employed continuously in this series since September 27, 2017 or before are exempt from the basic requirements. Documentation must be provided to the Human Resources Office to validate status.
- Education/
Experience:
A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program and possession of at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS‑7 grade level or above). Professional nursing experience must demonstrate competency in performing nursing care, patient assessments, medication administration or monitoring, and specimen collection. - OR Master’s degree in professional nursing.
- Exemption:
Current federal employees occupying a position in the 0610 occupational series and employed continuously in this series since September 27, 2017 or before are exempt from the qualification requirements. Documentation must be provided to the Human Resources Office to validate status.
