Quality Assurance Specialist III

Salary: $80,000 - $105,000 DOE
Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance Specialist III is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) while ensuring products, processes, and documentation meet established quality standards. This role serves as the primary point of contact for quality-related activities, working closely with production and operations teams to investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in manufacturing quality systems, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and quality assurance processes. This position operates independently, provides guidance across multiple departments, and helps ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and support Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, procedures, and records.
- Serve as the primary quality resource for manufacturing and operational teams.
- Investigate product and process non-conformances and support appropriate disposition activities.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) efforts.
- Conduct internal audits and support external customer or regulatory audits.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, track, and report quality metrics and key performance indicators.
- Support document control processes and ensure compliance with established quality procedures.
- Review production records and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
- Assist with employee training related to quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- 5+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, audits, documentation control, and continuous improvement practices.
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow procedures, specifications, and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and quality reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Quality, or a related technical field.
- Experience supporting AS9100, ISO 9001, or other regulated quality management systems.
- Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
- Aerospace, composites, medical device, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
- Experience with supplier quality, process validation, or customer quality requirements.
