Responsibilities
- Set up and configure low‑volume systems, including security, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video, and network cabling.
- Run, terminate, and label cables according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure system reliability, identify and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime, and repair faults to restore systems to optimal condition.
- Provide technical support and end‑user training; address customer inquiries and concerns efficiently.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow all safety guidelines; maintain accurate records and generate reports on performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities.
- Evaluate existing systems for upgrades or enhancements; perform upgrades to improve performance or meet new standards.
- Work closely with technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand needs and provide appropriate solutions; stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Lead and participate in teams, sharing resources, determining customer needs, coordinating work assignments, and providing feedback to meet timelines and quality goals.
- Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices that meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co‑workers, customers, and business partners.
- Demonstrate compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards; support the Open Door Policy and assist management with resolution of compliance issues.
- Travel domestically to multiple facilities or work sites; overnight stays may be required.
- Work or train at multiple facilities or distant locations.
- Climb ladders and stairs; lift, carry, or place merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Operate a motor vehicle and large power equipment; sit, squat, kneel, or crawl for extended periods; stand for long periods.
- Perform fine motor tasks such as manipulating objects of varying size and weight, and using a writing instrument or electronic device.
- Navigate narrow, confined spaces, storage areas, and closets.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Prior experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.
- Training or certification in low‑voltage systems.
- CompTIA Network+ certification.
- Manufacturer‑specific certifications (Honeywell, Axis, Bosch, etc.).
- OSHA 10 or 30‑hour certification/training.
- BICSI Installer certification.
- NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification.
